Wear your red ribbons!
Tie a "red ribbon around the old oak tree" and tell people that
PAIN PAIN BIGOTRY & ABUSE should not be tolerated in America!
The truth of the matter is, according to the
Washington Post (3/6/14):
1. Chronic pain patients are not "drug addicts." The doctors who compassionately treat them
are not "drug dealers" and part of "drug cartels" through their practices.
2. Less than 1% of chronic pain patients who take their narcotic pain medications as prescribed by their
doctor have a problem with addiction.
3. 70-80% of people who abuse prescription narcotic drugs have never seen a doctor. Their problem is addiction
and prescription narcotic drugs are a source of a cheap "high" or "fix." These addicts rob pharmacies, steal
narcotic medications from legitimate pain patients, steal prescription pads and write fraudulent prescriptions,
buy prescription drugs off the street, etc.
4. As prescription narcotic drugs become moe diffucult to obtain, addicts simply switch back to street herion.
5. A larger number of suicides are from chronic pain patients deciding to take their own lives rather than live
in chronic pain.
